Okay, I realize I was supposed to make more time to be here back in May. Work got real hectic all of May and most of June. My writing productivity has been through the roof. I've finished 3 paintings, I have one on my easel that just needs the eyes finished, two more drawn on canvas and ready to paint and two more planned.

One of my stories has been sent to Prairie Fire Magazine for consideration. I hope to hear back from them by the end of September but it could be as late as end of October before I have any news. They didn't send a quick reply so that means I didn't get auto-rejected right off the hop ... good sign!!

One of my stories is in the final editing stages. When it's polished it will be going to Asimov's Magazine of Science Fiction. I have high hopes for it but there are only 3 magazines that will even consider it because of the length and they're all big names.

I have 3 literary stories, one hard SF story, one soft SF story, and two SF/Fantasy stories all either planned out or in the works. These are all shorts for breaking into published markets. All my novels are in the works or undergoing severe editing.

On top of that I technically start work the 8th of September but how many people are going to call in sick that first month? Ah, the joys of subbing. So besides being short of money I should have time to get some of this work caught up. I'll have November-January off for Mat. leave (due end of October) but I won't have as much free time. I go back to work in February just as the absences and vacations start to pick up. So besides actually having money again my time will go out the window.

And that's me at the present moment. I have some photos and some pictures of paintings to load but I have no idea when I'll get around to it. I just realized that one of my projects may have been deleted off my laptop and I don't know if I want to restart it or not. Oh, and I have to start planning my wedding social which is in January. Whoo. Too much to do. Hopefully I won't be absent for 3 months this time.

... when you work too hard.

My poor neglected DA account!! I can't believe it. It's been just over a month since I've really checked in. Honestly I was expecting a lot more mail to have built up but hey, loved the replies I did get.

What a month it has been. I've been working steady and when I'm not at work I'm working to catch up my typing (oh the joys of being addicted to writing long hand). But I've gotten three short stories typed up in the last month (for a total of 45 pages or so, go me!) and I've been doing more edits on my NaNoWriMo novel from this past November. And life has handed me a twist of fate that may just allow me to have all of this next November off from work (and I already know what novel I want to write!)

Art wise I've got no time. In fact my paints went to my gramma on loan because she's repainting a statue for her church. But I got new brushes this month so when I get time and paint I'll be rolling!

I will get some new stories posted in the near future, I promise. But I have to work this afternoon and I still have another site to check on before I can get to my typing and I only have an hour before I have to get ready for work. AH! No time!

Happy Easter!!

Okay, so I'm a few days early, but they'll be busy days so better early than late.

And to go with Easter ... spring is finally showing its face around here. I mean, almost all the snow was gone and then we got almost as much snow in one day as we got all winter!! What was that about? And then it wouldn't stop snowing. Every other day it seemed there were little white flakes again.

Now we can see the grass, a little, under the giant puddles. The river looks nasty, they've only just opened the floodway, and if it doesn't thaw slowly we'll have a flood to deal with. And everyone just wants it to warm up!!

To make matters worse, I hate being cold.

But spring is in the air, it's Easter (and I pray that means chocolate), and I'm finally working (thank god). So life is good for the time being.

Happy Easter everyone.

*I couldn't find a good mood icon. My tummy's a little upset right now and I wanted a "sick" icon*

School: Almost finished my practicum, and I have an interview sort of lined up so I can get on the sub list. I'm really enjoying this but I still think I'll go for my education degree at some point.

Dark Chronicles: Yes, I'm still working on my vampire series. The editing is actually going quite well ... when I actually have time for it. Subbing may give me the odd day off to get more typing done.

Zoedar: I'm doing more background information for this than actual writing at the moment and it's going well. I'm trying to sort out all the nitpicky details abotu each race, like religious practices and hierarchy and such.

Major Poetry Project: I have all the poems done, and my sister has the info to do the cover. But I have to finish the illustrations so it'll be a while before this one gets published at lulu.com.

Rufizynn: My new planet. I've been doing a lot of background stuff but I've also been working on a novel (and I'm about 2/3 done). The novel is set on the jungle continent and features some very alluring ladies.

Short Fiction: I have a few Zoedar pieces and Rufizynn pieces set aside for a TWN anthology and they're coming along nicely. I also have that new story, A Warrior is Born (or whatever I called it), which may end up being longer than a short story.

Editing: I am willing to edit just about anything you care to write (with the exception of erotic lit – I won’t read that). I can do a simple critique or a full edit, the choice is yours. Rates depend on length and on the type of edit I do. I take payment in artwork, subscriptions, prints, or paypal. I have a degree in English Literature so I have experience with prose and poetry. Valentines Update

  • Mood: Love
  • Reading: I'm not, I'm writing

  • Eating: Chinese
Valentines Day:

Jon was such a sweety! I got a single red rose that he left in a vase on my dresser. And he decorated my mirror with hearts and a message that read "I Love You and I always will". Very cute. Tonight we're staying in, watching Ironman and eating Chinese.

School:

DONE!!! Well ... almost anyways. All I have left is my 4 week practicum. Can't wait!! Wish me luck, I'll need it.

Books:

I have two collections available for sale on Lulu.com under the name Casia Schreyer. Check 'em out! I'm also happy to say that there is an anthology coming out in the not too distant future from TWN. More info closer to the release date. My novels are coming along swimmingly, if only I could keep up with my typing. New short story going up on DA today!

Art:

Yeah right, like I have time. I have one request to finish. Sorry for taking so long but I haven't forgotten you.
