Editor for Hire

I am willing to edit just about anything you care to write (with the exception of erotic lit – I won’t read that). I can do a simple critique or a full edit, the choice is yours. Rates depend on length and on the type of edit I do. I take payment in artwork, subscriptions, prints, or paypal. I have a degree in English Literature so I have experience with prose and poetry.

Rates
*NOTE: I consider a page to be one word processor page, 8.5x11, 12 pt Times New Roman font, single space for any poetry and any prose under 2 pages. For longer pieces a page is one word processor page, 8.5x11, 12 pt Times New Roman font, 1.5 line spacing (it makes it easier to read).

Quick Critiques – this means I’ll read the piece and comment on plot, sentence structure, word choice, characters etc and give you a few pointers so you can edit as you like. I will also point out repetitive errors (things like “you always write lost instead of lots”.

Poetry and Flash Fiction (1.5 pages or shorter): You have a few options here. You can do a drawing request for me (usually one of my O.C.s), you can comment on a handful of my pieces, you can write me a poem/story (using one of my original pictures as inspiration), or you can give me lots of favs.

Epic Poems and Short Stories (2-10 pages): Option 1, prints (any print 2-5 dollars). Option 2, custom artwork, fairly detailed.

Short Stories longer than 10 pages (a short story is a stand alone piece, not a novel excerpt): Option 1, prints (total cost 6-9 dollars). Option 2, 3 month subscription. Option 3, $8.50 via Paypal (note me for info). Option 4, custom artwork, fairly detailed.

Novels

Any single chapter or excerpt up to 20 pages (arrangements on a piece by piece basis): Option 1, prints (any print 5-10 dollars). Option 2, $5.00 via Paypal (note me for info). Option 3, custom artwork, fairly detailed. Option 4, 3 month subscription

Multiple chapters or an excerpt longer than 20 pages: Please contact me by note and we will arrange something.

Detailed Edits (this means I will read the piece, so a general critique, and edit for specific spelling and grammar errors, typos etc.)

Please keep in mind that I am a full time student and I do volunteer work. Comment or note me and I will make arrangements on a case by case basis. I can only work on a few pieces at a time, dependant on their length. For shorter pieces I can do the edit through the DA comment system. For longer pieces I need a .doc file emailed to me which I will then email back to you with suggestions.
